Fix Petra Pro Error RTE 75: Permissions Problem

Issue: Error RTE 75 occurs when the user does not have sufficient permissions to access the required drive or registry entries. This may prevent saving or opening files and can also block certain program functions.


Cause: - Insufficient permissions on the JAMAR program folder. - Restricted access to registry keys required by Petra Pro.


Resolution: Grant full permissions to the JAMAR folder and relevant registry keys.


Steps to Resolve:


✅ Step 1: Unlock Folder Permissions
Navigate to: C:\Program Files (x86)\JAMAR

  • Right-click the JAMAR folder → PropertiesSecurityEdit.
  • Select Users and ensure the following are checked: Modify, Read & Execute, Read, Write.
  • Click Apply, then restart the computer.


✅ Step 2: Unlock Registry Permissions
Open Registry Editor and navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\Petrapro

  • Right-click the key → Permissions.
  • Add the user to the Full Control permissions list.
  • Close the registry editor.


Expected Outcome: Petra Pro functions normally without RTE 75 errors.
