Issue:
My TRAXPro or PETRAPro keeps prompting me for Administrator Credentials in the User Access Control (UAC). User doesn't have admin rights or login info.
Resolution:
In Windows Vista as well as later in Windows 7 Microsoft added the User Access Control, this was done for security purposes to make sure that you the user are in control of your PC. This has led to a few complications, however, one of them being that certain customers who are not Administrators on their own PC, will be prompted for Admin credentials every time they attempt to launch TRAXPro or PETRAPro. The solution for this is quite simple. There is a file for each program known as the manifest file. You simply need to delete this file.
For PETRAPro the file is C:\Program Files\JAMAR\Petrapro\Petrapro.exe.manifest
For TRAXPro the file is C:\Program Files\JAMAR\Traxpro\Traxpro.exe.manifest
If you had previously set the programs "Compatibility Mode" to "Run as Administrator" you may need to uncheck that after removing the manifest file.
*Note* If using a 64 bit operating system, the Program Files folder will actually be “Program Files(x86)"
